How we teach

Quadriga University of Applied Sciences Berlin offers part-time master's courses and certificate courses, which require a first academic degree and relevant professional experience. We combine study periods of face-to-face and self-study in order to successfully impart, deepen, repeat and consolidate knowledge.

Practical and methodical competence advancement

Through interactive learning formats, the teachers at the university enable students to quickly transfer new insights into a practical professional context, critically question and adapt ideas, and independently generate their own ideas. The students work in teams on case studies, carry out simulation games and project work in which they solve complex problems together. This stand in contrast to distance learning, and ensures that social skills and the ability to communicate are trained and improved.

Further it is of great importance that the practical instructors provide insights into their professional practice in various teaching formats and they show different ways in how they master their areas of responsibility and individual challenges. Quadriga University of Applied Sciences Berlin regularly invites leading personalities from companies and institutions to combine the expert knowledge of its professors with practical professional insights.

Lectures

In the lectures the knowledge transfer is the responsiblility of the lecturer. Interactive elements are nevertheless important and included through animated discussions about the material conveyed or through critical questioning. Lectures are mostly placed in the online modules in order to keep the focus on the interactive seminar work during the attendance phases.

Seminars

The seminars primarily serve to repeat, deepen and expand the knowledge acquired in self-study. The seminar is pre-structured by the teacher, but is also influenced by interactive elements such as group work and exercises. Discussions among the students are an essential element of the seminars in which problem-solving competence and communication skills are particularly well trained.

Exercises

In the exercises the students are accompanied and advised by the teachers. Working in teams is an important aspect of the exercises in addition to the academic findings. Leadership skills and social competence are thus enhanced.

Extracurricular events

We supplement our courses with additional qualification offers such as evening events, a stay abroad module and participation in specialist conferences and congresses as well as the mentoring programme. These extracurricular events are inclusive in the study program and offer the possibility to extend, deepen and apply the competences acquired during the study sessions.
